"When it comes to the art of bartending Reggie Tankut sets the standard.
From Queen Elizabeth II to rocker Rod Stewart, the 43-year-old barman has served everyone and anyone as the head cocktail waiter on the world-famous QE2 ocean liner.
Now, the father-of-two has packed it all in to serve up his signature cocktails in Chorley as the new maitre’d and general manager at New Season Gourmet Restaurant in St Thomas’s Road.
Reggie, originally from Turkey, said: “The response we are getting about the cocktails has been amazing and I can’t believe we are the only place doing it. We are very passionate about the town and we want to make the nightlife as good as possible.”
During his four years on the QE2, Reggie, whose real name is Recep, travelled to 38 countries.
During his time he made drinks for European royalty such as Prince Albert and the Queen, as well as rock stars, Hollywood actors, multi-millionaire business tycoons and international socialites.
In 1992 he met his future wife Vanda in Los Angeles.
The Clayton-le-Woods born beautician and physiotherapist was also working on the QE2.
He added: “We came back to this area because it is where Vanda is from and I don’t think people realise how nice it is here."
